Short Manual for the new Video Playlist Programing
 

The new programing for a video playlist can save much space on a web page, since only 1 window is being used for the videos. Especially for SmartPhone users the new programing is a big progress in usability because users do not have to scroll down to see all videos. The lenght of the playlist ist unlimited.


Installation

To set up the text element for the video playlist, please choose the content type "Text". With the editor you can use the link tool to set a video link. Here is how it works:

  1. Write down the text that contains the link to the video.
  2. Select the link text and click on the link icon in the toolbar of the editor which opens a seperate window.
  3. Choose the tab "External URL" and select the class video. If there is only 1 single video, you can also select the class single video.
  4. The tabs "Target window" and "Title" are not important and can be neglected.
  5. Copy the URL of the video into the field "URL".
  6. Click on the button "Set Link". The dialog window will now be closed and the link will be displayed in the editor.

Click the RETURN key to insert a new line and repeat the procedure to generate a playlist with many videos.

In the frontend, the video player window will be displayed above the playlist. By clicking on a link in the playlist, the corresponding video will be loaded into the video player window. A video will be startet by a simple click in the video window.


IMPORTANT SETTINGS

Please note that the video player window will not be displayed in the backend, but only in the frontend. Playlists are numbered automatically.


Multiple Video Player

To generate and position the video player correctly, the class VIDEO BOX must be assigned to the first link in the playlist. To do so, please click on the first link in the playlist and select the class VIDEO BOX from the Style menu. All following links in the playlist must not have any class assigned.

If another playlist link has the class VIDEO BOX assigned, you can simply remove the class by setting the cursor in the link text and clicking on the icon "Tx" in the toolbar.


Single Video Player

If there is only 1 single video, you can also select the class single video.

Plese note that only 1 link with class single video can be set on a web page. In this case, there is no need to select the class VIDEO BOX in the Style menu.
